Ambient air dryers focus specifically on removing water vapor from your machine. These specific filters ensure that water damage will not occur within the airways, solenoid valves or actuators. You can find all the sizes that you need to ensure that the droplets and mist don’t enter your airflow.

AMG Series Ambient Air Dryers and Bracket

Each model will remove 99.9% of all liquid water and mist that is present in an airflow line where installed. should be installed at the highest pressure and as far away as possible from the compressor. The element design produces a negligible pressure drop.

Our sizes range from one-quarter inch to two inches. They are designed to fit your machine. The auto drains will ensure that you dispose of the water vapors properly and that they do not remain in the system for long.

Mount all of our dryers with the brackets, to ensure that they remain stable. Attach tightly and watch the filter stay in place. Why not seek this better deal?

Different Types Of Dryers

Thanks to technological advances, the possibilities have increased for dryer systems. You can get either a refrigerated, desiccant or membrane air dryer. Each runs with different components and ensures that you remove the water vapor depending on your machine’s needs.

Know what dew points you need that tread the line between effective and excessive. You also need to determine if any amount of water in the air system is tolerable, and how much energy would be required for each one. If you would rather save on electricity or temperatures, then those factors will lead to different recommendations.

Refrigerated air dryers use temperature to remove the vapor. The system cools the air so that the water vapors condense into droplets, which are then trapped and collected.

This design seems simple. The drawback is that the dew point will never drop to water’s freezing temperature, so some water is left. While they are effective, they cannot remove all of these molecules. Instead, they reduce it to an amount that the machine can handle.

Desiccant air dryers use several layers of certain desiccant material that will absorb the water. A gel layer is one such example of a substance. When one layer has gathered enough materials.

You can get either a heated or heatless drier. Heatless requires less energy overall because it recycles the dried air to use in the system, whereas a heated machine needs ample power. Some people like this system because they can easily switch out the desiccant material in cartridge form, and you can use timers and gauges to find your ideal dew point.

Assisting Your Air Compressor

Removing water from your pneumatics machine is very important. The water can cause parts to rust as well as clogging, which will necessitate more repairs and replacements. In the long run, your costs will increase as a result of these damages. Rust is never fun, especially when it causes parts to rub against each other and create exponential damage.

In addition, within machines, the temperature can change depending on the amount of water level. Let’s consider one scenario: you are liquefying nitrogen which will explode at room temperature due to extensive pressure. Water vapor can freeze on the necessary coils and cause them to stop functioning. Then you need to defrost the coils and hope that nothing explodes. To make the process go smoothly, you need to keep the water out. Hence, you can see the need for an air dryer.

Water vapor can also cause unwanted chemical reactions, due to the hydrogen molecules. In the case of transporting dangerous substances such as chlorine, water vapor can turn it into hydrochloric acid, which is corrosive. You then have a storage container that gets damaged as a result of the chemical acid. It is not a fun scenario for anyone in this case.

As you can see, dry compressed air can make quite a difference. When you avoid the water droplets, you avoid small and large amounts of damage depending on your machine’s function. That’s why we recommend choosing the dryer for your compressed air system with precision, and knowing how much you want to invest in your system.
